Privacy Policy

Timuria ("the Game", "we", "us") is developed and operated by Ganduja Interactive OÜ, a company registered in Estonia. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Timuria (via timuriachess.com or the Pixidus platform), why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information (only if you sign in). Signing in is optional and only required for online multiplayer, the World Ranking, and profile features. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, via Firebase Authentication.
Gameplay data. If you sign in, we store your rating, win/loss/draw record, nickname, biography, chosen avatar, and — for online matches — the moves played, in-match chat messages, and the identities of the players in that match. This data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore).
Local device data. Whether or not you sign in, some preferences (language, sound settings, board theme, piece style, and — if you never sign in — a local-only rating) are stored on your own device using browser local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you sign in.
Advertising data. Timuria is supported by advertising. When played on timuriachess.com, ads are served through Google AdSense; when played on the Pixidus platform, ads are served through the Pixidus SDK. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, including — where you have given consent — personalized ads. See "Cookies and Advertising" below.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate core gameplay, including online matchmaking and real-time move/chat synchronization between players.
- To maintain your rating and display the World Ranking leaderboard.
- To let you customize and display a public profile (nickname, biography, avatar) to other players.
- To remember your preferences between visits.
- To serve and measure advertising that supports the free-to-play game.
3. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to run the Game:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) — hosts account and gameplay data.
- Google AdSense (on timuriachess.com) or the Pixidus SDK (on the Pixidus platform) — serve advertising and may process advertising identifiers/cookies under their own privacy policies.
- If you play online, your chosen nickname, avatar, rating, and in-match chat messages are visible to the opponent you are matched with, and your nickname/rating/avatar are visible to anyone viewing the public World Ranking.
4. Cookies and Advertising
On timuriachess.com, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies to serve ads and measure their performance. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message before any non-essential advertising cookies are set, and you can choose to accept, decline, or manage these choices. You can also control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
5. Data Retention
Account and gameplay data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights — including deleting your account and all associated data — contact us at info@gandujagames.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Timuria is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
